Manage your notifications

Read your SC Orgs notifications, turn on browser push alerts and email, and choose which org announcements reach you.

SC Orgs notifies you about the events you've registered for, your orgs' announcements and dispatch calls. Everything lands in your inbox, behind the bell at the top of the page. You can also get notifications as browser push alerts and by email: turn them on in Settings › Notifications.

Read your notifications

• Click the bell at the top of any page. The number on it is how many you haven't read.
• Click a notification to open what it's about, like the event or the announcement. That marks it read.
• Click Mark all read to clear the rest.

Unread notifications are listed first.

Get push alerts in your browser

• Open Settings and find Notifications.
• Next to Browser Push Alerts, click Enable →.
• Allow notifications when your browser asks.

It now says Active on this device. Do this on each browser or device you want alerts on. Push Notifications must be ● On too.

Get notifications by email

• Add and verify an email address under Settings › Email Addresses: see Your account and privacy.
• Make sure Email Notifications is ● On.

What you're notified about

• Event reminders, 24 hours and 1 hour before an event you've registered for.
• Messages from event organisers, sent with Notify Participants. See Create and run an org event.
• Comm-Link announcements from your orgs' leadership. See Write org docs and Comm-Link announcements.
• Dispatch calls in your orgs. See Dispatch.
• Interest in your Looking for Org listing, when an org clicks Send interest.

The first three can also come by push and email. Dispatch calls and listing interest are only in your inbox.

Advanced

• Turn off org announcements. Switch Community Announcements to ○ Off to stop Comm-Link announcements from all your orgs. You still see the posts on each org's Comm-Link page.
• Inbox only. Turn Push Notifications and Email Notifications off to keep everything in the site.
• Stop push on one device. Push alerts are per browser. To stop them on one device only, block notifications for sc-orgs.space in that browser's site settings.
