Create and run an org event
Create a Star Citizen org event on SC Orgs, take registrations, message participants and set up a repeating weekly or monthly op.
Updated 2026-10-26
To create an event for your org, go to Events, click + Create Event, pick your community under Host Community, fill in the details and click Launch Event. Members then register from the event page, and get reminders before it starts.
Creating an event for a community needs the Create Events permission. Owner, Admin and Member all have it by default.
Create an event
- Click Events in the top bar, then + Create Event.
- Under Host Community, pick your community. Pick Personal Event (no community) for an event of your own.
- Fill in the Event Title and Description. A Banner Image URL (16:9) is optional.
- Set the Start Time. It's in your own time zone, shown under the field; SC Orgs shows it to everyone else in theirs.
- Under Event Length, enter a Duration in minutes, or switch to End Date for a multi-day event.
- Under Logistics, add a Location / System and, to cap sign-ups, Max Participants.
- Choose the Visibility: Public shows the event to everyone, Community Only only to your members.
- Under Classification, pick at least one Languages, Playstyle and Activity Tags entry.
- Click Launch Event.
The event appears on your community page and in your org's Operations › Comms › Calendar.
Run the event
- Registrations. Players click Register on the event page. The sidebar shows how many are registered and, with a cap, how many slots are filled. Once it's full, registration closes.
- Reminders. Everyone registered gets a reminder 24 hours and 1 hour before the start.
- Message everyone. As the creator, click Notify Participants on the event page, write a Notification title and an optional Message body, and click Send Now. Every registered player gets it.
- Change or cancel it. As the creator, click Edit Event to change the details, or Cancel Event to call it off.
How players get reminders and messages, in the site, by browser push or by email, depends on their settings: see Manage your notifications.
Advanced
- Repeat an event. For a recurring weekly op or a monthly meeting, use the Repeat section when you create the event:
- Set Frequency to Daily, Weekly, Biweekly or Monthly. For weekly, pick the Days of Week; for monthly, the Day of Month. Both are in your own time zone, like the start time, and the op keeps its local time when the clocks change.
- Under Ends, choose Never, After X occurrences or On date. After X occurrences counts the first date, so 10 means 10 events in total; On date includes that day.
- Click Launch Event. Each occurrence is its own event with its own registrations, so players sign up for the dates they can make. SC Orgs keeps the next four weeks of dates on the calendar, adding new ones every day for as long as the series runs. Every date's page shows Part of series and, in the sidebar, the series' upcoming Dates in this series.
- Single date vs whole series. When you edit a date of a series, SC Orgs asks how. Edit this event only takes that date out of the series, so you can move or rename it on its own. Edit all future events changes the next upcoming date and every date after it; dates that have already started stay as they were. Only the series creator can do it.
- Change the time and every later date moves with it, keeping its registrations.
- Change the days or the frequency and the dates the new schedule still has keep their registrations. Dates it no longer has are cancelled (they show Event Cancelled, and their registered players are told), and new ones are added.
- Private ops. Community Only events are hidden from everyone outside your community, including on the public events list.
- See everything you've signed up for. Your personal calendar at sc-orgs.space/calendar shows the events you've registered for and your orgs' events.
