Invite members to your org
Create an invite link for your org with a role, a use limit and an expiry date, send it to new members, and revoke it when you are done.
Updated 2026-10-26
The quickest way to bring someone into your org is an invite link. Generate a code on Manage › Invites, pick the role they'll join with, and send them the link. They click Accept & Join and they're in.
You need the Invite Members permission (Owner and Admin have it).
Create an invite link
- On your community page, click Manage, then open the Invites tab.
- Pick the Role new members get. Most of the time that's Member.
- Optional: set Max Uses (leave it empty for unlimited) and Expires At.
- Click Generate Code.
- Click Copy Link and send it to the player, on Discord or in game.
The link looks like sc-orgs.space/invite/ABC123DEF456. The player opens it, signs in and clicks Accept & Join. See Find and join an org for their side.
Stop an invite
Under Active Codes on the Invites tab, each code shows its role and how many times it's been used. Click Revoke to turn a code off. Anyone who already joined with it stays a member.
See who's in your org
- Manage › Members lists every member with their roles and RSI handle. Click Assign Roles to change someone's roles, or Remove to take them out of the org (you need Remove Members, and they must rank below you). See Roles and permissions.
- Operations › Personnel › Members is the roster for the whole org: search by name, role or rank, and filter by role.
Advanced
- One link for a recruiting drive, one for each officer. A code with no limit and an expiry date works well for a recruiting post. A single-use code (Max Uses 1) with a senior role is safer for promoting someone in.
- Which roles you can invite into. The Role list shows the roles ranked below your own highest role whose permissions you have yourself. You can't invite someone into your own top role or one above it: an Admin can invite people in as Member or Recruiter, but not as Admin. Nobody can invite someone in as Owner. The owner can pick any other role, Admin included.
- Invites follow their creator. An invite gives its role on behalf of whoever made it. If they can't give that role any more (say they were demoted), the link stops working and the player is asked to get a new invite.
- Officers who invite. To let a custom role create invites, give it Invite Members. It doesn't need Manage Roles: its holders open Manage › Invites directly and see the roles they can hand out.
- Applications instead of invites. Players who find you in the directory can apply. Review them on the Recruitment page: see Review applications.
- Roles in bulk. To change what a whole group can do, edit their role once instead of each member: see Roles and permissions.
