Connect your Discord server
Link your org's Discord server to SC Orgs: add the bot, pick channels for events and treasury requests, map Discord roles, use /bump and /treasury.
Updated 2026-10-26
Link your org's Discord server to SC Orgs and the SC Orgs bot joins it. Members can then use /bump, /subscribe and /treasury there, new events and treasury requests get posted to the channels you pick, and members get Discord roles when they get org roles.
You need the Discord Integration permission in your org (Owner and Admin have it), and Manage Server on the Discord server.
Connect your server
- On your community page, click Manage, then open the Discord tab.
- Click Connect Discord server. Discord opens.
- Under Add to Server, pick your server and click Continue.
- Leave the bot's permissions ticked and click Authorize.
- Discord sends you back to the Discord tab, which now shows your server.
An org links one Discord server, and a server links one org.
Pick the channels
- On the Discord tab, under Channels, pick an Events & milestones channel. New org events and upvote milestones are posted there.
- Pick a Treasury channel. Loan, grant and repayment requests are posted there with Approve and Deny buttons for your treasury managers.
- Tick Create Discord scheduled events for new org events to also add each new event to the server's Events list.
- Click Save.
Use the slash commands
Members first link their Discord account to SC Orgs: see Get started on SC Orgs.
- /bump: upvote your org, once every few days.
- /subscribe: turn event syncing on or off, like the checkbox above. Needs Manage Server.
- /treasury: donate, check the balance, see the top donors, request a loan or a grant, or record a deposit. See Org treasury: loans, grants and reports.
Disconnect
On the Discord tab, click Disconnect and confirm. The bot leaves your server and the commands stop working there.
Kicking the bot from the server in Discord also unlinks it. SC Orgs notices within the hour.
Advanced
- Give Discord roles with org roles. Under Role mappings (you also need Manage Roles), pick a Discord role for an org role. When a member gets that org role, by assignment, an invite or a training rank, the bot gives them the Discord role. See Roles and permissions and Set up training tracks and ranks.
- Put the bot's role above the roles it gives. Discord only lets the bot give roles below its own. In Discord, open Server Settings › Roles and drag the SC Orgs role above the roles you mapped.
- Members need a linked Discord account. The bot finds members by the Discord account on their SC Orgs profile. Someone without one can't use /treasury and doesn't get mapped roles.
- Move to another server. Disconnect first, then connect the new server. A server already linked to another org can't be linked until that org disconnects it.
- If Discord sends you back with an error, the Discord tab says why: most often you don't have Manage Server on the server you picked, or the link was started in another browser. Click Connect Discord server again from the same browser.
